Mobile Home Parks

Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County

There are approximately 44 Mobile Home Parks permitted in Gadsden County.

Mobile Home Parks are regulated under Chapter 64E-15 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Parks are inspected at least 2 times each year to assure that water supply and sewage disposal facilities are properly maintained, garbage is being properly handled and disposed, and general sanitation of park is maintained in good order (i.e. no junk, stray animals, rodent harborage, etc.).

Recreational Camps are also included in this program. Seasonal camps are inspected at least twice during the year.

Anyone wishing to open a mobile home park or RV park must submit plans for the park through the local building department (city or county) for approval. Applications for operations of a Mobile Home Park must be made to the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County at least 30 days before beginning operation of the park. Annual operating permits are issued by the Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County.

The permit fee is based on $4.00 per space with a minimum fee of $100.00 and a maximum fee of $600.00. The permit year runs from October 1 through September 30 of each year. A county permit surcharge of $50.00 is added to the Mobile Home Park Permit.
