Family Planning

Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County

Family planning and related preventive health services are available to both males and females, including teens. Family planning services are provided on a voluntary basis in a confidential manner. Culturally sensitive information and the value of planning your pregnancies are available in order to make an informed decision regarding the use of birth control.

We offer comprehensive family planning services. Individuals have access to FDA-approved birth control methods and supplies, abstinence counseling, referrals for subsidized sterilization services, and information to all who want and are in need of these services. Services are provided on a sliding scale fee based on the individual's income after eligibility has been determined. There is no charge for services to clients with incomes up to 185% of the current federal poverty level. Priority is placed on serving low-income individuals who are at risk of unwanted pregnancy.

In addition, family planning information, education, and services reduce both the incidence and impact of sexually transmitted diseases through screening and treatment.

Please consult the Family Planning Program Website for more information.
